New SharePoint Admin tool from MS helps with migration...(Transferred Post)

Microsoft® SharePoint® Administration Toolkit Released...

This newly released toolset from MS contains two very useful tools:  1) Batch Site Manager (for the Central Administration site) and 2) UpdateAlerts STSADM cmd line tool.
Batch site manager adds a new section "to the Application Management page of Central Administration. Batch Site Manager is a feature that is designed to be used by SharePoint farm administrators to manage and administrate bulk operations that involve moving, locking or deleting one or more site collections within a single Web application".
So we now have an easier way to implement batch operations against multiple Site collections... cool!
UpdateAlerts extends the STSADM command line tool with a new operation STSADM -o UpdateAlerts. "This operation enables an administrator to update the Uniform Resource Locator (URL) of a Web application used in alert e-mails after a Web application address changes."
This tool will come in handy anytime your URL changes for any reason as all alerts have hard coded URL paths that would still point to the old URL otherwise... Also very useful!
There is a 32 bit and 64 bit version of this tool: SharePoint Administration Toolkit x86 , SharePoint Administration Toolkit x64
